Principal Zach Barnes and Vice Principal Matt Kizer with award recipient Jordan McCoy |
Homewood High School Junior Jordan McCoy has received the Presidential Volunteer Service Award from The President's Council on Service and Civic Participation and President Barack Obama. Jordan received this award in recognition of his 1,000 volunteer service hours in the community over the past 12 months. The award is a way to thank and honor Americans who, by their demonstrated commitment and example, inspire others to engage in volunteer service. Recognizing and honoring students sets a standard of service, encourages a sustained commitment to civic participation, and inspires others to make service a central part of their lives.
