Varsity Boys Indoor Track Team REPEATS as 5A State Champions; Girl's Indoor Track Team State Runner-up
The Varsity Boys Indoor Track team win their second Indoor State Championship in
a row at the Birmingham Crossplex on February 4. The Girls Varsity team finished
as Runners-up for the second consecutive year as well.
Individual and Relay State Champions were: Kiara Williams – Long Jump, Triple
Jump, and 60 meter; Andy Smith – 1600 meter, 3200m; Alazae Hester-Taylor –
Triple Jump; Ann Mosely Whitsett – 800 meter; 4 x 200m Girls (State Record) –
Elyssa Griffin, Kiara Williams, Christian Hill, and Hunter Midgette; 4 x 800m
Boys (State Record) – Logan Sadler, Mike Rohdy, Hunter Poole, and Andy
Smith.
All-State (top 3) Performers were: Alazae Hester-Taylor – High
Jump, 60m Hurdles; Hap Williams – Long Jump; Dominique Linson – High Jump;
Alex Ngei – 1600m, 3200m
